| It was a beautiful evening. And according to the instruments, the winds were optimal too. Madrigela lightly stepped up the ladder. As a breeze swayed it alarmingly to the side, she put a hand on the stabiliser at her side. The wood of the construction that held their airship in its lofty place creaked in the gust. When Madrigela had reached the top, she opened the crude wooden porthole, climbed in. Turned around and beckoned to the rest of their party, cast a last gaze at the small crowd that had gathered to view their maiden-flight, then entered the cockpit. | |

| Craig watched her, with his arms crossed. He wore a tattered brown coat and grey trousers, the original colour was debatable, a red scarf and frayed fingerless gloves. A pair of badly scratched goggled rested around his neck and over the previously mentioned scarf. He had short ginger hair and s few freckles, and at the moment he had a cold. He sniffed. | |

| Once in the cockpit, Madrigela checked the levers. As she pulled them to and forth, the rudders intended to direct the airflow around the ship and located on its sides swerved accordingly. "Thermometer, check...", she muttered as she completed her short inspection.
"Come on!", she yelled through the hatch. "We don't want to wait till these clouds catch up with us!"
Huffing and puffing, Zirillo climbed up the slender ladder. Some scrolls protruded from his stuffed backpack. Madrigela watched the cartographer make his difficult ascent with a look of amusement on her face that portrayed clearly what she thought of intellectuals. Zirillo mopped his face. They waited for Craig.

| The engineer climbed up after the cartographer. He sneezed, spraying his goggles. "Uhgn," He sniffed. "lovely." Craig shrugged to himself, then looked at Madrigela. "By the way, I disassembled the annoying mechanical duck." | |

| Madrigela wasn't even listening; not because she wanted to ignore him, but because she was too intent on bawling orders to the assistants she had posted at the structure that suspended the airship and held it in place. They retrieved ropes and pulled the wooden beams downwards. A moment of suspense as the ship was finally freed. It descended downwards for a moment, then gained bouyancy as Madrigela quickly pulled a lever back to its original position. She turned from the controls with a broad grin on her face. "Now we're talking!"
Zirillo rummaged in his pack. "M'lady-" "Madrigela." "-Madrigela, here's the route."

| Craig blew his nose and pulled his goggles over his eyes, rubbing his hands together. He sneezed again.

| "You see", Zirillo said as he moved a finger over the map, "we should continue towards the coast and then move along it. There had been little exploration in that direction because we don't know if there are any trade partners or valuable resources there... yet." Madrigela jumped up and jerked the lever around. The ship slowly described a curve in the air, and, born by the wind, travelled south. Far in the distance, almost invisible against the sky, the azure waters of the sea were visible. | |

| Meanwhile, on a secluded Island, a small, blueish creature, his skin an odd colour from most of his tribe-mates, worked tirelessly in a wooden tower, though it was smaller then the "Human" equivalent. The creature's long fingers grasped vials, as he slowly, carefully poured a measured liquid into a bottle with a black liquid. The potion he was trying to make was the Deval Firala, Demons Flame, a potion, which when thrown, could put something on fire, most of the time. He didn't use it himself, of course, he left that to the other Goblins, the ones who had sacrificed intelligence for strength, those who ha- The goblin dismissed the thought, knowing the slightest distraction could cause his untimely demise. | |

| Craig sighed. "Very exiting." He tried to sound enthusiastic, which was hard when he had such a blocked nose. The engineer looked at the map. | |

| Luckily, the winds were favourable and they sped seawards with little effort. After a mere two hours, the sands and cliffs lay hundreds of feet beneath them. Madrigela adjusted the rudders, causing the ship to swerve and follow the coastline. Settlements were rare; they only spotted some small fishing-villages scattered along the coastline. As the afternoon passed, even those ceased. One could feel that it had become notably warmer. The air became unpleasantly humid and a downward wind heralded a thunderstorm.
"We might need a landing-place soon", Madrigela pointed out as she viewed the barometer. "This doesn't look too good."

| The skies had darkened. "The winds are not advant-" A flash made Madrigela jump. The clash of the thunder was accompanied by the splintering wood. "What? No!" She ran to the porthole and peered out. One of the rudders hung, splintered, at the side while half of the wooden contraption fell to the cliffs below. The change was instantly noticeable. The airship lopsided and floated downwards.
Madrigela reacted quickly, attempted to adjust the course, but not quickly enough. The plummeting ship barely avoided the cliffs and splashed into the water.

| Zirillo was white with shock. "Good Lord!", he exclaimed. "I can't swim!" Madrigela peered out to sea, evaluating the situation. "Well, with a bit of luck you won't have to." "Huh?" "Look. That's an island and judging by the looks of this beach it's ebb tide." "You mean..." "We should drift there. With a bit of luck." "And if we don't have a bit of luck?" "We could try and swim to that island. Or drown. Either way I'm not relinquishing the ship while we still stand a chance."

| The Goblin dropped a vial onto the floor upon hearing something. He made a irritated noise and went over to a 'tiny' window. Xroguz looked out and at a horribly blue sky, except, there was a slightly black colour in the air. Xroguz walked over to a door, opened it, then began trotting down the stairs muttering to himself. | |

| Craig returned with a large metal... snake. With arms. He looked as if he wouldn't take any questions on it.

| Madrigela paced up and down the rooms as the airship drifted out to sea, checking the hull for leaks. "Good job we waxed the cloth", she said, "or we would be soaked before we arrive." It seemed that they were having their share of luck. They were steadily approaching the island that had a distint tropical look to it.

| Craig and his shiny orange metal snake, which had a terrifyingly rattly engine and exhaust system, waited. The engineer looked nervous. | |

| Xroguz left his tower, then deliberately avoided his village, as he considered them to be little more then barbarians, atleast, compared to the humans he had met before travelling. Dull, yes, but polite. He headed in the direction of the smoke, to the shores. | |

| The direction stayed constant. With a crunching sound, the airship ran into ground about fifty yards away from the beach. Madrigela opened the port and jumped out. The water soaked her to the waist. "For the rest of the way", she said as she grabbed hold of a rudder, "we pull." Zirillo reluctantly let himself fall into the water and joined efforts with Madrigela to bring the craft towards the beach. | |

| Craig jumped in too, and was almost crushed by his machine as it plopped in too. "Um, okay..." he sighed, and joined them. | |

| Xroguz carefully stroded through the forests seperating the land from the beach. He suddenly checked to make sure he had brought his dagger and some of his explosive potions. He had, of course, always carrying a weapon around, as the forest held more dangerous creatures then the insects, thankfully however, these had little interest in eating Goblin-flesh, or were nocturnal creatures, coming out at night to feast on their unluckly victims. | |

| It was hard and unpleasant work. The fact that they were waste-deep in water didn't exactly help either. But finally they managed it. "On the bright side, we have wood to repair this", Madrigela remarked as she attempted to wring out her trousers while nodding towards the forest lining the beach. | |

| The Goblin, emerged from the forest, onto the beach. The last thing it expected to see were humans. Xroguz froze staring at the sight blankly. He held a vial at his side. Which then dropped into the sand and disappeared. | |
